Bridge Theater
Located over Lock 12 of the Champlain Canal
The Bridge Theater, Whitehall, NYThe 2006 Bridge Theater season is the seventh season that the Theater has brought the arts and entertainment to the north country, Whitehall, New York region. Before, after, and during show intermissions, one can watch boats locking through to the north into Lake Champlain passing the location where Benedict Arnold (then hero) built his 'first fleet' in 1776 to stop the British on October 11th, 1776 at Valcour Island.

The fact that this tourist and artistic attraction has been built on a canal bridge, directly over Lock 12 of the Champlain Canal, means that the theater is on the cusp of becoming an area icon. Built and founded to promote the historic back drop of the area, The bridge Theater presented as its opening play in 2000, "'Victory in Defeay", a dramatic depiction of the famed battle on Lake Champlain in 1776 when General Benedict Arnold's modest fleet fought England's armada to a standstill, saving the American Revolution.
In addition to the regularly scheduled productions, the Bridge Theater in conjunction with other Whitehall icons is offering special group tour rates for every Tuesday during July and August Call 518-499-2435 for more information.
The Bridge Theater is a division of Arts and Recreation Commission of Whitehall (ARCW), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
